Core Position Descriptions
Trainees will spend 4 months in stroke at GCUH, 4 months in general neurology at GCUH and 4 months at the outpatient clinics at GCUH and Robina Hospital.

Elective Position Descriptions

Hospital Information

Gold Coast Health includes two major campuses, Gold Coast University Hospital (at Southport) and Robina Hospital, with over 1,100 beds. It provides health care not only to the Gold Coast but also to northern New South Wales, servicing a population of approximately 1 million. Neurology services include intravenous thrombosis and endovascular intervention for acute stroke, video-EEG monitoring for seizure classification and pre-surgical evaluation in epilepsy, infusional therapies for Parkinson disease and administration of the latest disease-modifying therapies in multiple sclerosis.

Junior Staff Positions In Neurology
Other junior doctors include 3 Neurology PHO/Fellows, 1 basic physician trainee and 3 resident medical officers.

Trainee Responsibilities
Advanced trainees will coordinate care of inpatients admitted under neurology, deal with inpatient consultation requests from other services, evaluate patients presenting to the Emergency Department and see outpatients in general neurology and subspecialties. After hours will include reviewing neurology patients approximately 1 in 5-6 weekends.

Selection Criteria
Candidates will apply to the Queensland RMO Campaign as well as to ANZAN.
