This is an approved Core Training Position for Advanced Trainees in Neurology
Care of Neurology and Stroke Inpatients
Supervision of Junior Medical Staff
Assessment of Emergency Department Neurology Patients
After hours acute stroke roster 1 in 5 (tPA and ECR)
Inpatient Consultations
Neurology Outpatient Clinic
Attendance at Neurophysiology Clinics
EEG teaching / reporting
Attendance at Multidisciplinary Allied Health and Nursing Meetings
Prepare weekly Neurology Clinical and Radiology Meetings

Hospital Information
Liverpool hospital has been operating continuously since the end of the eighteenth century. It is located at Liverpool and serves a population of 900,000 people in the South - West of Sydney. The hospital has 650 beds and is a principal teaching hospital of the University of New South Wales and the Western Sydney University.
The hospital provides a full tertiary referral service for all specialties, and a number of quaternary services including Endovascular Clot Retrieval
There are excellent opportunities for clinical training with exposure to a broad range of neurological and medical conditions.
We are a 24/7 Stroke Endovascular Clot Retrieval Centre servicing hospitals throughout the Greater Sydney Region and Rural centres throughout NSW

Junior Staff Positions In Neurology
There are three neurology teams
One team comprising the Advanced Trainee and an RMO
Two team second comprising a Basic Trainee and an RMO
There is a stroke fellow to assist in assesment of acute stroke patients in the Emergency Department
Trainee Responsibilities
This is a busy department with exposure to a wide range of neurological conditions giving opportunities for excellent teaching in clinical neurology, stroke (including ECR and thrombolysis), neurophysiology and neuroradiology. Clinical research and presentations at state and national meetings are encouraged and opportunities for further research are available
